AN AMERICAN PREMIERE Allegra can't help bursting into song - at home, in shops, even in the streets - filling her world with music, joy, and the occasional uproar. As her brother and housekeeper struggle to contain her exuberance, they face a deeper question: can you silence someone's spirit without dimming their shining light? This new comedy is full of laughter. Yet the play is also a touching and emotional examination of how, sometimes, the most beautiful of minds can start to disappear. The show includes several wonderful song sequences that add extra magic to this colorful, funny, and moving story. |

Playwright
Peter Quilter's plays have been presented in major theatres in 50 countries around the world and translated into over 30 languages. He has had a hit show on Broadway and 3 successful plays in London's West End. Peter has twice been nominated for the Olivier Award (Best New Play and Best New Comedy) and his Broadway debut was nominated for 3 Tony Awards. His best known works are "End of the Rainbow" (a musical drama about the life of Judy Garland), "Glorious!" (the true story of Florence Foster Jenkins, the worst singer in the world) and "Duets" (a comedy for 2 actors). Peter's first movie "Judy" starring Renée Zellweger received the Golden Globe, the Bafta and the Oscar for Best Actress.
